Villa Maggona is a four-bedroomed beachfront villa with pool and full staff. It is located between Colombo and Galle near the beach resort of Bentota. Recently refurbished and air-conditioned throughout it is a perfect venue for holidays with friends or family. The villa has direct access on to a picture postcard empty palm-fringed sandy beach, which although not suitable for swimming, is perfect for sunbathing, walking and paddling in the surf.
With four beautifully furnished double en-suite bedrooms (one of which can be configured as a twin), Maggona comfortably sleeps eight with the option for an additional two children on extra beds. The master bedroom benefits from a spacious private sitting area. There is WiFi throughout, meaning you can catch up on your emails or send pictures back home to friends. The open air living spaces are bright and airy thanks to giant windows that open out onto the luscious green garden and to the ocean beyond.
The pool runs the whole length of the deep shady verandah which is arranged to create multiple spaces for sitting, lounging and/or dining. There is also an inside/outside dining room and spacious sitting room with books, games and a speaker dock.
Maggona comes with a full staff, including a chef, who will look after you during your stay and cook you fabulous meals from our mouth-watering a la carte daily menus. The house speciality is seafood – be sure not to miss the crab curry – you’ll never want to leave!
This gorgeous retreat is hidden in the ‘Golden Triangle’ of Sri Lanka. Nearby is the picturesque Bentota beach and lagoon and you are only a short drive from the UNESCO heritage town of Galle that is most certainly worth a visit thanks to its preserved colonial architecture and proximity to stunning beaches at Unawatuna and Thalpe, Wijaya and Midigama. Other nearby locations to visit include the lowland white tea plantations, some beautiful waterfalls, Yala National Park where you can spot leopards, Udawalawe National Park so see wild elephants and Mirissa where you can go whale watching.
